Scinox organized an engineering workshop at the University of Damascus to introduce mechanical engineering students to the complete journey of transforming engineering concepts into operational industrial machines. The workshop highlighted how different engineering disciplines collaborate throughout industrial projects, from customer requirements analysis and engineering design to manufacturing, validation, commissioning, and final delivery.

The session introduced the structured engineering approach followed by Scinox, starting with customer requirement analysis and project planning, followed by mechanical design, technical documentation, manufacturing, quality assurance, commissioning, and final project delivery.

Students also learned how different engineering teams collaborate throughout each project phase, including design engineering, documentation and validation, quality management, automation, and commissioning. The workshop highlighted the roles of Sales Engineers, Design Engineers, Documentation & Validation Engineers, Quality Engineers, and Commissioning & Automation Engineers, explaining how each team contributes to different stages of machinery development and project delivery.

The workshop also introduced students to internationally recognized engineering practices used in industrial equipment development, with a focus on qualification and validation processes. Participants learned about key protocols, including Design Qualification (DQ), Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ), and their importance in ensuring equipment reliability, compliance, and operational performance.

The session also highlighted the critical role of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and ISO standards in the design, manufacturing, and validation of industrial systems, particularly for highly regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, food production, and chemical manufacturing.
